Pharmacology and toxicology: hypokalemia drugs. This product is a medicinal sodium type cation exchange resin (sodium content per gram is 9.4-11%). After oral administration or enema, ion exchange can occur in the intestine to absorb potassium ions. The principle of lowering blood potassium is that after oral administration, in the acidic environment of the stomach, the sodium ions on the molecules are replaced by hydrogen ions to become hydrogen resins. When the hydrogen resin enters the intestine, it exchanges with the potassium and ammonium ions in the intestine, so that the excess potassium ions in the body are removed.
